As a Senior Software Engineer at Facet, you will collaborate with our Engineering & Product teams to develop world-class commercial software for our lead planners and clients.
The primary goal is to create a product that enhances the financial lives of millions.
You will be proficient in modern front and back end tools and development methodologies.
The role requires a willingness to learn new languages and technology stacks, tackle large and complex problems, and work both independently and in a peer programming environment.

Daily responsibilities include collaborating with Product and Planners, designing, developing, and testing code in Golang and React, and deploying to AWS.
You will estimate tickets in a ScrumBan process and commit code constantly to Git/Bitbucket in a mainline development environment.
Writing tests is a priority, and you will have the time to do so.
You will engage in pair programming, participate in daily standups, and attend weekly “Tech Stack Tuesdays” for skill development.
Additionally, you will take part in bi-weekly “Fast Fridays” focused on performance improvements and quarterly 3-day Hackathons.

Requirements:

Candidates must be excited about learning new skills and adapting to a startup environment where change is common.
A minimum of 4-8 years of full stack web development or related experience is required.
At least 3 years of experience in Go/Golang and/or React 16+ is necessary.
Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL, is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS services such as ECS, EC2, RDS, and S3.
Familiarity with the REST Architectural style and The Clean Architecture is advantageous.
Experience with Git and Bitbucket is required.
Knowledge of frontend toolchains like Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt is preferred.
Experience with frontend testing tools and frameworks such as Mocha/Chai, BrowserStack, and Puppeteer is beneficial.
Candidates should have experience with automated testing (unit, integration, regression, performance).
Familiarity with responsive design and Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) is a plus.
Familiarity with Linux and Docker is preferred.
Knowledge of FinTech APIs such as Plaid, Finicity, Yodlee, APEX, and Orion is advantageous.

The position offers an annual salary ranging from $150,000 to $175,000, plus a bonus based on the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
