Remote Senior Software Engineer - Ads Bidding & Pacing

Description:

• As a Senior Software Engineer in the Ads Bidding and Pacing team at Reddit, you will collaborate with technical leaders to enhance optimization systems and improve existing systems' robustness.
• Your responsibilities will include identifying and addressing infrastructural and operational gaps in automated bidding products and pacing systems.
• You will be tasked with building systems capable of processing data at a large scale and ensuring that improvements align with the business vision.
• Design and conduct A/B experiments to evaluate the impact of new bid and budget optimization algorithms.
• Write maintainable code, conduct rigorous analyses, and contribute data-driven insights to projects.
• You will work closely with cross-functional teams to represent customers' voices in your work and ensure codebases are healthy and maintainable in the long term.

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in ads and marketplace systems, with a focus on optimizing an ads marketplace.
• Preferably hold an MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of industry experience building real-time data processing systems using frameworks like Flink, Spark Streaming, Kinesis, and Kafka.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Go, and Java.
• Comfortable with distributed systems, big data processing, and data-intensive systems.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders.
• Ownership mentality, independence, and a desire to contribute to roadmap development.
