Description:

Forgotten Empires is a full-service game developer focused on Windows PC games, with a team of over 90 individuals from around the globe.
The company is looking for an experienced Software Engineer with a focus on Gameplay and AI to work on Age of Empires.
The role involves using C++ skills to contribute to the development of top-tier games in a creative and supportive team environment.
Responsibilities include working in a C++ codebase on a custom engine, maintaining and developing features for the game and its tools, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and regularly debugging, profiling, and optimizing code.
This position is remote but only open to applicants currently located within Europe.

Requirements:

Candidates must have prior experience working on RTS/Strategy-based games in a professional setting.
Proven senior-level engineering experience in C++ is required.
Recent experience in the video game industry is necessary.
Experience working in a team environment is essential.
A B2 English level for conversational and written communication is required.
Player or development experience with Age of Empires games is a plus.
Candidates will be asked to partake in a technical test to demonstrate their skills.
Applicants must be located in Málaga, Spain, or working remotely in the UK/EU (EU time zones required).
