Description:

As Relyance AI’s Senior Software Engineer, AI Backend, you will strategize, drive, and execute on core initiatives connecting the output of NLP and AI models with the Relyance product.
You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to design and build a flexible, powerful, and robust NLP backend that scales the impact of AI for customers.
Your role will involve creating and executing a roadmap for a system that enables high-velocity AI development while ensuring stability on the product side.
You will make customer-centric prioritization decisions to balance immediate impact and long-term bets, collaborating with the team manager to align with other engineering teams.
You will architect systems that balance current needs with a forward-thinking outlook to improve and scale infrastructure, continuously seeking opportunities to automate and build tools to lower operational barriers.
As a hands-on member of the team, you will solve complex problems with simple, pragmatic solutions.
This role offers ample opportunities to become a hands-on AI/ML engineer, learning practical uses of AI technologies such as LLMs, BERT, T5, and frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Requirements:

You must have 7+ years of experience with a proven track record of being a key member of teams building complex backends, particularly those dealing with complex data.
Expert-level proficiency in Python is required.
Strong skills in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented software design and implementation are essential.
You should have the ability to learn and operate across the full stack, from ML and NLP to cloud infrastructure and UI frontend.
A creative and strategic mindset to build powerful, robust, and flexible systems is necessary.
A "get stuff done" attitude is important, along with a willingness to work hands-on alongside the team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You should have a history of successfully influencing product direction through a strong perspective that motivates engineers to develop simple, pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
Excellent communication skills, including clear and concise communication, active listening, empathy, and a respectful, collaborative approach to earn the trust of peers, are required.
