Description:
UpDoc is building the world's first clinically validated, physician-supervised conversational agent for managing chronic diseases.
The position is fully remote and involves working on UpDoc’s patient-facing conversational agent.
The role requires leading the development of the conversational agent and implementing a scalable, low-latency system for voice and multimodal conversations.
Responsibilities include implementing rigorous prompt engineering processes, developing metrics for system evaluation, and creating data pipelines for fast experimentation.
The engineer will collaborate with other backend engineers to deploy AI models and chat/voice APIs, and work with clinical experts to validate performance and medical accuracy.
The position involves developing backend services using FastAPI and Pydantic.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years of backend web development experience.
Proficiency in type-hinted, modern Python is required.
Candidates should have 2+ years of experience building end-to-end LLM applications, either personally or professionally.
Experience in integrating and optimizing LLMs in production environments is necessary, along with knowledge of evaluation frameworks and MLOps/LLMOps best practices.
Experience in building AI infrastructure from the ground up is required.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure, and containerization technologies is essential.
