The role of Senior Software Engineer involves creating algorithmic solutions that enhance healthcare, combining algorithm development with regulatory submissions, image processing, and machine learning operations (MLOps).
The position directly impacts patient outcomes by integrating technology with clinical applications.
Responsibilities include architecting and developing scalable algorithmic solutions, leading regulatory submission efforts, integrating machine learning models, driving MLOps practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The engineer will also champion software best practices, lead technical projects, optimize system performance, and resolve complex technical issues.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field, along with several years of professional experience or equivalent practical experience is required.
Extensive experience in image processing, computer vision, and 3D computational geometry is necessary.
Proven experience with regulatory submissions and developing medical software in FDA, MDR, or similarly regulated environments is essential.
Expertise in machine learning operations (MLOps) and proficiency in modern C++ and/or Python programming languages are required.
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS or GCP, including service configuration and compliance qualification is needed.
Demonstrated experience with software development best practices, including testing, CI/CD, DevOps, and agile methodologies is required.
Experience with orchestration tools like GitHub Actions and proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is necessary.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across applications, networks, and cloud environments are essential.
A strong clinical understanding with the ability to translate clinical requirements into technical specifications is preferred.

The position offers a competitive salary range, with estimates between $133,859 to $175,479 for locations outside the San Francisco Bay Area and $140,608 to $200,034 for the San Francisco Bay Area, along with cash bonuses and stock options.
