WeatherBug, a division of GroundTruth, provides hyperlocal weather forecasts to over 10 million monthly users through its app and website.
The Senior Software Engineer (Android) role is remote and requires core work hours from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am IST.
The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing complex mobile solutions with limited oversight.
Key responsibilities include architecting system designs, coding comprehensive software solutions, serving as a CodeOwner, automating testing processes, and collaborating with vendors.
The role also involves overseeing mobile releases, decommissioning outdated solutions, providing ongoing support, and identifying technical risks.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 9+ years of experience in software development is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong background in Android development.
A minimum of 5 years of experience with Android tools and frameworks such as Java/Kotlin, Android Studio, OkHttp, RxJava, image loaders, and SQLite is necessary.
At least 3 years of experience working in an Agile team environment is required.
Familiarity with AdTech and advertising integration on mobile platforms is preferred.
Deep knowledge of object-oriented design principles, performance optimizations, and memory management is essential.
Strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication skills for collaborative work are required.
