Description:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and extending the Kong Gateway, including both the Open-source and Enterprise versions.
They will collaborate with the Product management team to identify and implement enhancements, work closely with engineering teams on architecture and new features, and engage with the open-source community.
Responsibilities also include bug fixing, performance tuning, low-level optimizations, providing support to escalation teams, mentoring team members, and other tasks as assigned.
The role is fully remote for individuals in Europe, with hiring available in specific countries.

Requirements:

Comfortable working in a remote distributed team with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and documentation.
Hands-on technical expertise in troubleshooting and profiling Linux systems.
Experience in IdP/AuthZ systems, monitoring and profiling systems, and network traffic inspection.
Minimum 2 years of experience with Rust.
Proficiency in designing, prototyping, building, and debugging highly scalable, distributed, reliable, and resilient applications.
Familiarity with scripting languages like Lua, Perl, Python, or Ruby.
Experience in developing and supporting a large-scale SaaS platform.
At least 5 years of experience in team collaboration for server-side applications and components.
