Description:
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions and services while constantly improving Firstup’s approach to architecture, scale, availability, and fault-tolerance.
Responsibilities include utilizing real-world knowledge to build scalable SaaS applications, writing high-quality code, collaborating across teams on industry standards, designing future-ready solutions, and resolving system availability, reliability, and performance issues.
The role also involves advocating for better performance and efficiency of software, systems, and processes across teams and promoting ideas/opinions of others from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study, or commensurate experience required.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in API integration and maintaining APIs.
5+ years of experience building reliable and performant microservices.
Familiarity with API protocols and standards, including REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and JSON.
Experience with API testing tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of authentication methods like OAuth, API keys, and JWT.
Experience working with mainly TypeScript or JavaScript frameworks (i.e.: Node.js, React.js,) and also Ruby.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot API and integration issues.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to work with stakeholders in and outside of the organization.
Eagerness to learn lots of new technologies.
