Remote Senior Software Engineer (APIs & Integrations) - SaaS (Remote - UK)

Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions and services while constantly improving Firstup’s approach to architecture, scale, availability, and fault-tolerance.
• Responsibilities include utilizing real-world knowledge to build scalable SaaS applications, writing high-quality code, collaborating across teams on industry standards, designing future-ready solutions, and resolving system availability, reliability, and performance issues.
• The role also involves advocating for better performance and efficiency of software, systems, and processes across teams and promoting ideas/opinions of others from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study, or commensurate experience required.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in API integration and maintaining APIs.
• 5+ years of experience building reliable and performant microservices.
• Familiarity with API protocols and standards, including REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and JSON.
• Experience with API testing tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of authentication methods like OAuth, API keys, and JWT.
• Experience working with mainly TypeScript or JavaScript frameworks (i.e.: Node.js, React.js,) and also Ruby.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot API and integration issues.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to work with stakeholders in and outside of the organization.
• Eagerness to learn lots of new technologies.
