Remote Senior Software Engineer, Authentication & Authorization

Description:

• We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Authentication & Authorization team.
• You will report to the Engineering Manager and apply your technical and domain expertise to design, implement, and maintain secure authentication and authorization systems.
• You will drive design discussions, code reviews, and project-related team meetings.
• Collaboration with other engineers is essential as you develop solutions for our software as a service (SaaS) products that help scientists save time and increase their experiment quality.
• You will implement new features and bug fixes within our authentication and authorization services.
• Working with your immediate team engineers, you will conduct technical investigations, solution designs, code implementation with automated tests, and code reviews.
• You will lead or consult the authoring of engineering design proposals following our product roadmap at BenchSci.
• Leveraging a deep understanding of the business context and the team’s goals, you will unlock independent technical decisions in the face of open-ended requirements.
• You will proactively identify new opportunities from both internal and external sources and advocate for and implement improvements to the current state of projects.
• Adhering to and improving our high standards of highly scalable and maintainable code is expected.
• You will help set a high standard for exceptional engineers who are outcome-oriented and positively contribute to the team's culture.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field within science is required.
• You must have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with authentication solutions and SSO is necessary.
• A high comfort level working with a Python back-end and a React/Typescript front-end is required.
• You should have 4+ years of experience working as a professional full-stack developer.
