As a Backend Software Engineer on the Auth team, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable systems for Authentication, Authorization, and Session Management.
This role involves ensuring secure and seamless access across all company platforms and shaping foundational security systems.
You will work collaboratively with developers and stakeholders to enhance the platform, ensuring high-quality code and efficient delivery of features.
Responsibilities include writing elegant, efficient, and testable code, maintaining documentation for configurations and processes, and mentoring team members.

Requirements:

You must have 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in SaaS and/or Fintech.
Expertise in authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML, is required, along with a proven track record of implementing secure identity systems.
Proficiency in backend development with a strong focus on scalable and reliable systems is essential.
Knowledge of secure coding practices, token-based authentication (e.g., JWT), and session management strategies is necessary to enhance system security and performance.
Familiarity with graph-oriented databases, such as SpiceDB, and their application in authorization systems is a plus.
Experience working with AuthZed or similar systems, with an understanding of authorization concepts inspired by Google Zanzibar’s approach, is also a nice to have.
