The Senior Software Engineer will be part of the new Azure team, responsible for building and enhancing LocalStack’s Azure emulation capabilities.
Requirements:
The candidate must contribute to the design and implementation of LocalStack’s Azure emulator, ensuring high performance and compatibility with Azure services.
The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Developer Relations, and Go-to-Market teams to gather requirements and design developer-focused solutions.
The candidate should help define and evolve the overall architecture of the Azure system, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
The position involves supporting customers in resolving technical issues by providing expert guidance on integrations and best practices.
The candidate will assist in the design and development of LocalStack’s core architecture and frameworks to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Azure team is expected.
A strong software engineering background, preferably in Python, is required.
Deep expertise in cloud development, particularly with Azure, is essential.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi is required.
Proficiency in system design and architecture, especially in building Azure-based solutions, is expected.
Strong API integration expertise and understanding of interoperability in cloud environments are necessary.
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering is required.
Experience working directly with customers to resolve technical issues and improve product fit for Azure developers is essential.
The candidate must be able to collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, DevRel, and Go-to-Market teams.
Mentorship and coaching experience to support team growth is preferred.
The candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments, with the ability to build solutions from scratch.
Active participation in open-source communities or contributions to relevant projects is preferred.
