Description:
Tenable is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
The role involves developing software and tools to support designs and analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modifying software used in various computer programs.
Responsibilities include writing code, completing development, and performing testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.
The position requires implementing designs using modern programming practices, ensuring quality, being eager to learn, leading software development initiatives, and participating in design.
The Senior Software Engineer may also perform other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
Requirements:
A B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of software development experience in the primary programming language used by the team.
Strong initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
Mentorship of software engineers on the team is expected.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
A solid understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC) is required, including requirements analysis, design, estimation, development, quality control, and unit testing.
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and willingness to travel occasionally are also needed.
