Description:

Sayari is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join the Application Engineering team, focusing on developing new and existing features across the stack.
The role requires an experienced backend or fullstack engineer who can independently complete complex features, mentor peers, and optimize performance at scale.
The ideal candidate should have a continuous learning mindset and a passion for solving problems related to corporate transparency, anti-money laundering, sanctions evasions, and combating financial fraud.
The application tier is primarily built in TypeScript, running in Kubernetes, and is backed by PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Memgraph.
The data ingest tier operates on Spark, processing terabytes of data from hundreds of sources.
Responsibilities include taking ownership of complex features, architecting and implementing scalable new features, writing and maintaining complex SQL queries, collaborating with the product team, leading code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and optimizing database systems.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience solving complex technical problems.
A history of developing large web applications and REST APIs is required.
Advanced proficiency in TypeScript is essential.
Extensive experience with data modeling and optimizing complex database queries against systems such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and/or Elasticsearch is necessary.
Proven expertise in system architecture and performance optimization for large-scale systems is required.
Strong familiarity with writing unit and integration tests, as well as knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes, is expected.
