Flowhub is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join their remote engineering team.
The company aims to make legal cannabis accessible and has developed user-friendly business management and compliance products for the cannabis industry.
Senior engineers will design, build, and deliver high-quality solutions that address customer needs while balancing technical debt, speed of delivery, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities include working with product management and stakeholders to create a performant point-of-sale platform, making architectural decisions, optimizing Postgres databases, enhancing observability tools, mentoring teammates, and reviewing code changes.
Candidates must be located in the United States, excluding CA, NY, and WA.

Requirements:

Candidates should possess a strong curiosity and a desire to understand how people, systems, and businesses operate.
Experience in system design and architecture from proof-of-concept to mature systems is required.
Applicants must be team players who can discuss complex technical subjects with various stakeholders.
A pragmatic approach to problem-solving without over-engineering is essential.
Proficiency in backend services is necessary, with the ability to diagnose and optimize performance issues between service and database layers.
Familiarity with React.js, Golang, and GraphQL is preferred.
Deep experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational database technology is required, including understanding its setup and schema impact on performance.
A passion for making an impact in the cannabis industry and a commitment to customer and coworker satisfaction is essential.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $135k - $165k per year, plus equity.
