Remote Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Cars/Agency

Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer, Backend will join the Cars Agency team to design, implement, deploy, and operate complex backend systems for Car Rentals distribution channels.
• Responsibilities include building and maintaining a robust infrastructure supporting millions of bookings annually, solving technical and software architecture challenges, and contributing to a microservices architecture system.
• The role involves collaborating with diverse teams, assisting in process automation, and executing on big opportunities to enhance Hopper's position in the travel industry.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture with the ability to develop Scala microservices; experience with JVM is preferred.
• Proficiency in building and managing external API integrations, designing APIs, and developing data-heavy platforms or APIs.
• Familiarity with gRPC/Protobuf, functional programming languages (Java, Scala, Haskell, F#), Cloud Platforms (preferably GCP), and Kubernetes.
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, architectural decisions' impact on performance, and experience in backend engineering at scale.
• Focus on quality, writing testable code, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the travel industry is a plus.
