Remote Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Cars/Agency

Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer, Backend will join the Cars Agency team and be responsible for designing, implementing, deploying, and operating complex backend systems for Car Rentals distribution channels.
• The role involves working on feature development, infrastructure, and collaborating with a diverse group of people.
• Responsibilities include building and maintaining a robust infrastructure supporting millions of bookings, solving technical and software architecture problems, contributing to a microservice architecture system, and automating operational processes.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and ability to develop Scala microservices (Scala experience preferred but not strictly required).
• Experience in building and managing external API integrations, designing APIs, and developing data-heavy platforms or APIs.
• Familiarity with gRPC/Protobuf, functional programming languages (Java, Scala, Haskell, F#), Cloud Platforms (GCP knowledge a plus), and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, architectural decisions' impact on performance, and experience in backend engineering positions.
• Focus on quality, writing testable code, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the travel industry is a plus.
