Description:

SmartRecruiters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to join their engineering team.
The company's mission is to connect people to jobs at scale through their global Hiring Success platform.
The position allows for remote work from anywhere in Germany or Poland or from one of the hub offices.
The technology platform is a SaaS product hosted on AWS and soon on GCP, with services built in Java, Javascript (Node.js), and Python.
The role involves contributing to the full product life-cycle, building services on top of Kubernetes/AWS/GCP infrastructure, designing RESTful APIs, and collaborating with other teams.
Qualifications include experience in designing, developing, and operating distributed web-based systems, strong Java programming skills, understanding of persistence layer design, and familiarity with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
The position also requires coaching and mentoring other engineers, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and proficiency in English.

Requirements:

Experience in designing, developing, and operating distributed web-based systems.
Ability to support the end-to-end product lifecycle.
Preferably 5+ years of professional experience.
Proficiency in Java programming language.
Hands-on experience with TDD, clean code principles, and effective code reviews.
Strong domain modeling skills and understanding of RESTful API design.
Knowledge of distributed systems design and persistence layer design.
Ability to coach and mentor other engineers.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Strong command of the English language.
Experience in CI/CD and familiarity with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker would be a plus.
