Description:
The Senior Backend Developer will be part of the Hopper Fintech Ancillaries team responsible for integrating proprietary fintech offerings with major travel companies globally.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, deploying, and operating complex backend systems using Scala and technologies like GCP, OpenAPI, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver features in an agile manner within a microservices architecture.
The ideal candidate should excel in distributed systems, work effectively with various specialists, focus on quality code, and have prior cloud experience.

Requirements:
Ability to bring leading industry techniques and technologies to the table.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and their impact on performance and maintainability.
Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with specialists.
Focus on writing quality, testable code that performs and scales.
Proactive, able to work with minimal guidance, and handle evolving goals.
Prior cloud experience and familiarity with Scala and its libraries.
Previous experience in travel or eCommerce is a plus.
