Remote Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Remote, US)

Description:

• Architect and deploy secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and GCP.
• Integrate cloud services into the broader system architecture in collaboration with development teams.
• Analyze and optimize the performance of PostgreSQL Aurora and MySQL databases through query tuning and indexing strategies.
• Aim for 99.999% uptime SLA for systems and provide detailed incident reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, marketing, and market integration.
• Work on various aspects of the tech stack including Python, Flask, MySQL, Postgres, Celery, AWS/GCP services, Ubuntu, Apache, Redis, Git, and Jira.
• Conduct peer code reviews, mentor junior developers, and implement application monitoring tools.
• Prioritize and manage development activities, participate in agile processes, and attend regular team updates and meetings.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of industry experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Deep experience with scalable distributed systems in containerized environments.
• Expertise in managing and optimizing relational databases like PostgreSQL Aurora and MySQL.
• Proficiency in CDK, Terraform, and one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, PHP, or Ruby.
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams, providing guidance on infrastructure-related issues.
• Commitment to staying updated on cloud infrastructure and database technologies.
