Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• Calm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (full stack) to join their Engineering Team in New York City or Minneapolis.
• The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining both frontend and backend systems for web applications.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, defining project scope, and developing technical specifications.
• The engineer will lead the development and implementation of complex frontend features and services, ensuring smooth development and deployment processes.
• The position requires writing high-quality, well-documented, and maintainable code while ensuring high test coverage, including unit and integration tests.
• The engineer will implement frontend features with monitoring to detect system errors and performance issues and stay updated on the latest frontend technologies.
• Additionally, the role includes developing, mentoring, and training other software engineers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience with Javascript/Typescript, Node.js, React/Next.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS/GCP/GKE.
• Proficiency in relational databases and SQL is required.
• Experience with responsive design and REST API-based microservices design is necessary.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment as part of a collaborative team is essential.
• Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and tackle challenging problems.
• Experience in providing accurate high-level estimates and consistently delivering on time and with quality is required.
• Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests in a CI/CD environment is necessary.
• Excellent communication skills are required to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Candidates should have the ability to partner with leads across products and work independently as well as part of a team.
• A minimum of 8 years of related experience and a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field are required.

Benefits:

• The anticipated salary range for this position is $148,500 to $241,000, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
