Description:

Bixal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work remotely from anywhere in the USA.
The role involves coordinating with the Program Engineering Lead and the product delivery team to ensure sufficient engineering staffing and quality deliverables.
The engineer will support a development team using technologies such as Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Java, and Python.
Responsibilities include adhering to modern software development practices, ensuring architecturally sound engineering decisions, and participating in software design meetings.
The engineer will identify and implement improvements to the developer experience and design, develop, test, deploy, and evolve features for the va.gov application.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a senior engineering role.
Strong proficiency with Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Java, Git, and Python is essential.
Familiarity with agile software development practices is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are needed to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in contributing to and facilitating design and architectural discussions is required.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
