Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer position at Nearmap involves working on a full stack of ReactJS/NodeJS/PostgreSQL and messaging/microservices architecture.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with frontend and backend practice leads to enhance systems/UI, suggesting and implementing software development process improvements, and potentially assisting in transitioning backend NodeJS systems to C# if experienced in .NET.
• The role also entails optimizing SQL queries and system speed, utilizing Jira for task management, and working with a NodeJS-based microservices architecture to identify property attributes from various imagery sources.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience in building and maintaining highly scalable systems, including messaging, microservices, and relational databases is required.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and NodeJS is essential, with ReactJS experience being a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and PostGIS, is beneficial.
• Knowledge of C# and .NET, Kubernetes, third-party SDKs, and Web Services is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer service focus are necessary.
• A relevant degree or certifications are desirable.
