Description:

Shippo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Carrier Configuration team, focusing on expanding the company's carrier network.
The role involves defining a new way of configuring integrations to empower users to connect with carriers quickly.
Responsibilities include contributing to the development of new carrier integrations, maintaining legacy integrations, and partnering with other teams to understand their configuration needs.
The engineer will build tools to improve internal processes, participate in on-call support rotation, and work with the product team to refine new product scopes.
The position requires leading large projects, mentoring fellow engineers, and setting high standards for engineering practices and processes.
The engineer will also set and monitor KPIs for systems performance and quality.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in software development, particularly in building and maintaining highly available, distributed, and scalable systems.
Proven expertise in building and maintaining APIs, services, and databases is required.
Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, or Ruby, along with SQL databases, is necessary.
Experience with server-side MVC frameworks like Django, .NET, Spring, Rails, or Phoenix is expected.
A strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns is essential.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is required.
Candidates should have a passion for customer success and a deep understanding of usability, reliability, and scalability.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills are necessary for effective teamwork.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (advanced/fluent) are required.
A demonstrated ability to drive innovation and scale solutions to meet business needs is essential.

A BSc or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field (or equivalent experience) is required.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $156,820 to $212,180 annually, with an average anchor point of $184,000.
