Remote Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Essentials) - Remote across ANZ

Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining processes and automations for Canva’s engineering teams to simplify the provisioning and configuration of landing zones for their workloads in the Cloud.
• They will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Infrastructure-as-Code, specifically in Terraform.
• The role involves developing infrastructure solutions with scalability, high-availability, and security in mind.
• Collaborating with other teams to find the best solutions to cloud problems.
• Participating in solution design meetings, hiring interviews, and code reviews.
• Proposing and contributing to new approaches and solutions to ensure the future-proofing of Canva's distributed cloud infrastructure as the company continues to scale globally.

Requirements:

• Strong Computer Science background with advanced coding proficiency in Python or Golang (both preferred).
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, maintaining, and automating Cloud Infrastructure in AWS (preferred), GCP, and/or Azure.
• Experience working with infrastructure as code - Terraform (preferred), AWS CloudFormation / SAM / CDK, or similar.
• Understanding of Cloud Security best practices.
• Advanced knowledge of DevOps best practices, Kubernetes, Container Orchestration, Serverless infrastructures.
• Ability to guide and mentor team members and improve collaboration, learning, and idea sharing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both technical and plain language.
