Remote Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure

Description:

• We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure to drive automation, reliability, and security across our cloud infrastructure.
• This role sits at the intersection of Software Development, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Build Release Engineering (BRE).
• The focus is on designing, building, scaling, and securing cloud services through modern infrastructure automation.
• You will be responsible for designing and maintaining deployment pipelines, ensuring service reliability, and optimizing our cloud platform for security, scalability, and observability.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure with AWS and Kubernetes.
• You will automate infrastructure management using Terraform (preferred), Puppet, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, secure, and reliable software delivery is also part of the role.
• Writing and maintaining high-quality infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation code is required, with experience in a strongly typed language such as Java, Golang, Rust, C#, etc., as well as experience with scripting languages like Python.
• You will improve system monitoring, logging, and observability to proactively detect and mitigate failures.
• Optimizing SQL database management, schema design, and query performance for reliability and efficiency is expected.
• Ensuring security best practices are embedded in all stages of infrastructure and deployment is crucial.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues in Linux-based production environments with a deep understanding of process management and system performance is required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, CloudFormation, or similar is necessary.
• A strong background in cloud-native architectures with hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS and Kubernetes is required.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD processes and experience working with tools like GitLab CI/CD (preferred), GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD is essential.
• Proficiency in both scripting languages (Python, Bash) and strongly typed languages like Golang, Java, Rust, or C# is required.
• Strong experience managing SQL databases, including schema design and query optimization, is necessary.
• Understanding of Linux internals, process management, and system troubleshooting is required.
• The ability to design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and observable cloud infrastructure is essential.
