Remote Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Insights (Remote, NASA)

Description:

• Grafana Cloud is a composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, and traces with Grafana, allowing customers to utilize open source observability software without the overhead of managing their own stack.
• The Observability department focuses on enabling developers to understand application health and performance by providing tools for code instrumentation, data ingestion into Grafana Cloud, and visualization.
• The Cloud Insights team collaborates with backend database teams to build and maintain distributed microservices and data pipelines for various insights and visualizations.
• Responsibilities include reducing time to value for customers by creating new data pipelines, writing efficient algorithms for data processing, improving customer experience with solutions and recommendations, and writing end-to-end integration and unit tests.
• The role requires leading projects, writing maintainable code, designing new microservices, collaborating with teams, responding to customer feedback, and participating in an OnCall rotation when ready.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 1 year of fully remote work experience.
• Experience with a large SaaS platform and familiarity with distributed systems challenges such as scalability and data isolation is required.
• A strong commitment to developer and user experience, as well as product quality, is essential.
• Experience in delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipping in a self-driven manner is necessary.
• Candidates should have a track record of writing clean, robust, and maintainable software.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative, asynchronous environment is preferred.
• Ability to tackle complex challenges and break them down into manageable solutions is required.
• Willingness to work across teams and align work with the needs of other squads and stakeholders is essential.
