Description:

Wasabi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team responsible for core services.
The role involves building and improving core components that handle high volume customer requests and manage large datasets at high throughput.
Responsibilities include building, developing, maintaining, and testing software components for Wasabi API services.
The engineer will troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues and production incidents.
The role requires understanding, improving, and redesigning key services to enhance scalability and reliability.
The engineer will contribute to proactive improvements, such as developing better tools and refining existing processes.
Collaboration with team members on design and code reviews is expected.
Strong software development skills and knowledge in distributed systems are essential for success in this role.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in modern distributed services.
Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Golang, Java, and Python is required.
Hands-on experience with database technologies like MySQL, RabbitMQ, CockroachDB, or Cassandra is necessary.
Understanding of caching and message queues is considered a plus.
Candidates should have knowledge of web services and modern API best practices, including HTTP, REST, and gRPC.
Practical experience with Agile software development principles and methodologies is required.
Knowledge of common DevOps and CI/CD tools and processes is necessary.
Familiarity with deployment tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent is a plus.
