Description:

Paystone is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Medellín, Colombia.
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs using TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on GraphQL.
Responsibilities include building scalable and efficient APIs, developing cloud-native microservices leveraging GCP services, and optimizing backend systems for scalability, performance, and reliability.
The engineer will manage and automate cloud infrastructure with Terraform, maintain high code quality through testing and code reviews, and troubleshoot backend issues.
The position also requires contributing to architectural discussions, preparing system documentation, and participating in project requirements-gathering.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in backend development, with significant expertise in TypeScript.
Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly Cloud Spanner, Datastore, and Pub/Sub, is required.
Proven ability to build and optimize APIs in large-scale, production environments is essential.
A deep understanding of microservices architecture, GraphQL, RESTful API design, and distributed systems is necessary.
Proficiency in using Testing Frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and Artillery for various levels of testing is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex backend issues are essential.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in agile development environments, are necessary.
