Description:

The Core Systems team is responsible for building and operating the platforms that power Nylas’s communication services, handling millions of requests daily.
The Senior Engineer will own and evolve the Send Platform, which processes over 10 million API calls daily, focusing on scaling the system for a projected 10x increase in traffic.
The role involves setting the technical direction for the Core Systems team, influencing design decisions, and leading high-visibility projects.
Responsibilities include enhancing the Send Platform APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing test suites, providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and improving system architecture.
Requirements:
A BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent is required.
At least 4+ years of experience in backend development on high-impact projects is necessary.
Candidates must be solid backend engineers with an understanding of systems, high concurrency design patterns, and distributed system concepts.
Hands-on experience in building and maintaining applications, including both API and client-side implementations, is essential.
Experience developing and testing with Go and JavaScript is required.
Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines is necessary.
Experience with modern database and storage solutions (MySQL, NoSQL) is required.
Some experience with containers and related infrastructure (Docker and K8S) is preferred.
Some experience with Cloud Services (AWS or GCP) is preferred.
