The company utilizes advanced remote measurement technology for soil carbon sequestration and emissions, integrating machine learning, ground observations, and satellite data.
The Senior Software Engineer will design and implement the next generation of Perennial’s geospatial platform, providing access to soil carbon insights for internal teams, customers, and partners.
This role is suited for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and desires to influence technical strategy while engaging in coding and system design.
Responsibilities include developing tools for Perennial’s digital soil mapping products and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer and internal needs.
The engineer will ensure systems are built with appropriate complexity for immediate needs and future scalability.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building geospatial web applications or data platforms.
Deep experience with Python and expertise in developing and scaling RESTful APIs is required.
Familiarity with front-end frameworks, preferably React, and the ability to prototype user-facing features is necessary.
Skills in cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), containerized (Kubernetes), and serverless (AWS Lambda) architectures, along with modern CI/CD workflows, are essential.
Experience with geospatial data and tools such as GDAL, PostGIS, and Google Earth Engine (GEE) is required.
