Description:

Warner Music Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Toronto, Ontario, with a focus on building the next generation of Songkick.
The role involves reimagining and implementing technology for artists and fans, including building new codebases and scaling services.
The engineer will work as part of a dynamic team, owning the creation and delivery of innovative products.
Responsibilities include backend development with a focus on API and service design, providing leadership and mentoring, scoping engineering tasks, participating in code reviews, and driving engineering excellence.
The engineer will also be responsible for writing and reviewing documentation, tackling tech debt, and ensuring security, privacy, and performance are prioritized in design.
Experience with Rails, Go, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, and BigQuery is a plus.
The ideal candidate is passionate about music, has a strong sense of ownership, and is eager to grow and learn in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Candidates must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development or data engineering is required.
Experience in building or developing large-scale customer and business-facing applications is essential.
Strong coding skills and the ability to communicate empathetically are necessary, along with great design skills.
A passion for music and a desire to provide data that enhances music accessibility to larger audiences are important.
Candidates should possess a high sense of ownership and a drive to deliver impact in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
