In this role, you will use your software development skills to contribute to our fintech initiatives.
You will spend most of your time hands-on coding in our Rails/React stack while also understanding the architecture and mentoring others.
The engineering team balances the need for speedily pushing out new features with supporting an ever-growing portfolio of existing features.
You will independently and reliably deliver code in our Rails/React environment.
You will support and be supported by your teammates, acting as a kind educator and learning from teammates across different experience levels in Rails.
You will be known for your boring, no-surprises software delivery and apply new patterns set by technical leads around testing, accessibility, security, and maintainability.
You will incrementally address technical debt without losing focus on feature delivery and guide the team through modeling better practices, active mentoring, and teaching.

Requirements:

You must be an experienced webapp developer familiar with Rails.
You should be a proactive problem solver who enjoys deeply understanding business needs.
You must be equally comfortable working independently or closely with remote-first teammates.
Experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue is required.
You should have experience in high-compliance environments (e.g., PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOX).
You must enjoy working cross-functionally in a remote-first, agile-style environment.
You should be curious about the needs of your users, teammates, and organization.
You must be skilled at delivering and receiving feedback with teammates.
You should truly care about diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
You must be comfortable collaborating with product managers and designers to better understand business needs.
You should be comfortable existing in and seeking direction in an environment of ambiguity and change.
Bonus nice to have: Experience in fintech, fiduciary or advisory services, learning customer needs in B2B environments, being an experienced teacher or mentor, and experience with React, ES6, yarn, and webpack.
