Remote Senior Software Engineer (Data)

Description:

• The company, Kontakt.io, is seeking a Senior Software Java Engineer to join their Compute team remotely in Poland.
• The role involves independently solving problems from a product perspective and executing proper solutions.
• The tech stack includes Java 11+, Kafka, Spring framework, Python, MongoDB, Cassandra, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, Jenkins, git, and AWS Cloud.
• Responsibilities include improving, maintaining, and scaling up the IoT Cloud, delivering features and support for customers, defining data models, working with database systems, establishing connectivity with third-party systems, implementing location engine algorithms, writing documentation, maintaining CI/CD workflows, and driving best practices in the team.
• The position also involves proposing upgrades for modern security and development practices and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing highly scalable applications using Java, Kafka, MongoDB, and Cassandra with microservices architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kafka (including Kafka Streams) and large volumes of data.
• Knowledge of the Spring framework, experience with Kubernetes, and understanding of Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Experience with performance testing, good development practices like test automation and CI/CD, and willingness to explore new technologies.
• Fluent English (B2) and willingness to participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Knowledge of Python or Bash is considered an asset.
