Description:
Lark Health is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with a Data Engineering focus to optimize the data that marketing relies on for new enrollments.
The role involves acting as a technical lead and subject matter expert in data on a cross-functional team, including Frontend Engineers, Backend Engineers, Marketing Analysts, and Product Managers.
Responsibilities include creating and maintaining data pipelines to serve marketing and product data at scale, enhancing marketing capabilities, and standardizing data for downstream teams.
The engineer will collaborate with other Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers as part of a Data Guild to standardize architecture and best practices.
Key tasks include driving data solutions for user enrollment optimization, executing funnel optimization experiments, and bridging marketing requirements with data implementation.
The role requires developing and maintaining pipelines for data integration, building ETL/ELT pipelines, and creating data validation tools.
The engineer will uphold best practices in security, data privacy, quality, and governance while making critical data architecture decisions.
A culture of engineering excellence with a focus on observability, documentation, and risk management is encouraged.
Requirements:
Expertise in languages and frameworks such as Scala or Python, with adaptability to new tools as required.
Proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines for batch and streaming data processing using tools like Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
Fluency in data structures, algorithms, distributed computing, and storage systems, with an understanding of multiple consistency models.
Expertise in data modeling for application databases and data warehouse architecture, including star/snowflake schema designs.
Experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows.
Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating large datasets.
A track record of designing robust data backup, restore strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
Previous experience in a senior or lead-level software engineering role with an emphasis on data engineering.
