Description:

  • Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, also known as a FinOps platform, helping companies manage their cloud infrastructure costs.
  • The company is composed of a team of approximately 30 employees, primarily based in New York City, and is transitioning into a growth phase.
  • The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for architecting a large-scale ingestion pipeline and managing the query layer that warehouses cost data for the Vantage product.
  • The role involves scaling the data ingestion, transformation, and query layers to accommodate the expanding customer base and use cases.
  • The data platform integrates with eleven different infrastructure providers and processes billions of records monthly.
  • The engineer will collaborate with founders on feature discovery and work closely with software engineers to address data processing needs.

Requirements:

  • A BA/BS degree and a strong technical background with at least 8 years of professional working experience are required.
  • Candidates must have experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing tactical and strategic considerations.
  • Proficiency in developing scalable and extendable core services used across multiple products is necessary.
  • Experience with MPP databases such as Snowflake, Hive, Redshift, and Clickhouse is required.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Trino, Spark, Hadoop, Airflow, and Kafka is essential.
  • Candidates should have developed and tuned highly scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience in reliability engineering, particularly in data quality, data observability, and incident management, is required.
  • A kind demeanor is also a valued trait.

  • The estimated annual US base salary range for this role is between $140,000 and $200,000, with the final salary determined during the interview process based on experience and qualifications.
