The Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform role involves spearheading the development of a new architecture for the Data platform from the ground up.
The primary objective is to design and build a resilient, scalable cloud-based platform and its accompanying tools to empower Opendata teams.
Responsibilities include leading technical design, developing core platform components, establishing best practices, and collaborating with the Product team.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on designing and building scalable data platforms.
A strong understanding of data architecture principles and proven experience in designing and developing scalable data systems is required.
Experience with Apache Spark, Airflow (or similar), Data Lakes, and open table formats such as delta lake and/or iceberg is necessary.
Excellent software development skills in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, or Scala are required.
Strong experience in building data tools and libraries with AWS and/or GCP infrastructure and services is essential.
Candidates must possess strong communication skills.
