Description:
The Developer Platform - Data Products team at Reddit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to tackle large-scale batch and streaming data challenges.
Reddit, a platform with over 100,000 active communities and approximately 82M+ daily active unique visitors, aims to foster community and belonging worldwide.
The Senior Software Engineer will work on the Snapshot product to ensure high-quality data delivery to partners and strategize for data quality and consistency at scale.
Responsibilities include refining and maintaining data infrastructure technologies, designing end-to-end data solutions, implementing automation, and mentoring fellow engineers.
The role involves collaborating with various teams at Reddit, including engineering, data science, machine learning, and product.
Requirements:
4+ years of coding experience in a production setting with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders across different departments.
Proficiency in programming languages like Scala, Go, Java, or Python, along with expertise in SQL languages such as BigQuery, SparkSQL, or Postgres.
Experience working with tools like Terraform, Helm, Kafka, Flink, CDC, Airflow, Prometheus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
Excellent communication skills tailored for effective collaboration within a service-oriented team and the broader organizational context.
