Description:

• ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Cloud AutoScaling team, focused on implementing robust vertical and horizontal auto-scaling capabilities within the ClickHouse cloud environment.
• The role involves building a cutting-edge Cloud Native platform on top of the public cloud.
• Responsibilities include improving the metrics pipeline and building algorithms for better autoscaling statistics and recommendations.
• The engineer will work on the autoscale and Kubernetes operator to support seamless Vertical and Horizontal Auto-scaling.
• Collaboration with the ClickHouse core development team and other data plane teams is essential to support auto-scaling use cases and internal infrastructure improvements.
• The position requires architecting and building a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant software development experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience in building and estimating statistical models and time-series forecasting with large-scale, real-world datasets is required.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, etc.), or R is necessary.
• Experience with Data Storage, Ingestion, and Transformation tools such as Spark or Kafka is expected.
• A passion for solving data problems at scale is essential.
• Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offerings is required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within and across engineering teams are necessary.
• Strong problem-solving skills and solid production debugging skills are required.
• Bonus points for software development experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar languages, and experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
