Description:

  • The company behind ClickHouse, a high-performance columnar OLAP database management system, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cloud AutoScaling team.
  • The team is focused on implementing robust vertical and horizontal auto-scaling capabilities within the ClickHouse cloud environment to transform it into a fully functional serverless database solution.
  • Responsibilities include building a cutting-edge Cloud Native platform, improving metrics pipeline, working on autoscale and Kubernetes operator, collaborating with core development team, and architecting a highly available distributed infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience, hands-on experience with statistical models and time-series forecasting, proficiency in SQL, Python/R, experience with data storage tools like Spark and Kafka, expertise with a public cloud provider, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience building and estimating statistical models and time-series forecasting with large-scale, real-world datasets.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, etc.)/R or equivalent.
  • Experience with Data Storage, Ingestion, and Transformation (Spark, Kafka or similar tools).
  • Passion for solving data problems at Scale.
  • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering (e.g., EC2).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within and across engineering teams.
  • Strong problem solver with solid production debugging skills.
