Description:
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for building scalable developer productivity solutions for Affirm Engineering.
They will design and develop innovative automated solutions to enhance developer productivity.
The role involves creating best-in-industry solutions for build, CI, release workflow, deployment automation, and environment management.
The engineer will analyze and improve the developer journey, build tools to measure operational performance, and collaborate with developers, architects, and release engineering teams.
Staying updated on industry trends for developer efficiency and contributing to Affirm’s development processes are key responsibilities.
The position is critical within Affirm’s Infrastructure Platform Engineering team.
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in software development or related fields.
Ability to create and enhance fundamental engineering processes.
Enthusiasm for providing a great experience to other software engineers.
Proficiency in developing and debugging in one or more programming languages.
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, BuildKite, cloud computing, and related tools.
Experience with build, test, and deploy automation, using gradle, and kind.
Knowledge of Python/Kotlin development is a plus.
Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers is advantageous.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, docker, and AWS EKS is a plus.
Understanding of the trade-offs between build and buy approaches.
Preference for automated processes over manual ones.
Eagerness to learn new problem spaces, tools, and technologies.
