Description:

  • The role is for a Senior Software Engineer in the Digital Workplace team at Canonical, which specializes in web architecture and analytics.

  • Responsibilities include designing and delivering web-based systems and SAAS, providing insights into the workplace experience, enabling new processes, and improving workflows.
  • The role involves collaborating with a distributed team, writing high-quality code, debugging issues, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior team members.
  • The engineer will connect to various data sources, provide visualizations, and work on database design and architecture for connected systems.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be experts in two or more of the following areas: backend web service programming in Python and Node.JS, web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), data analytics and statistical analysis, natural language processing, sentiment analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
  • The ideal candidate should have a passion for experimentation and analytics to enhance the tech organization.
  • A strong analytical, data-driven mindset is essential, along with the ability to connect and interpret data from APIs.
  • Demonstrated leadership, excellence, and consistency are required, as well as the ability to mentor others in the team.
