Description:

Crunchyroll is looking for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Embedded Cloud Reliability to join their team.
The Cloud Reliability team at Crunchyroll works closely with development teams and core platform teams to deliver critical cloud infrastructure.
The role involves building and running high volume customer-facing services in dynamic environments.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability, or related roles.
They should be proficient in at least one programming language (Go, Python, TypeScript) and have experience in automation and infra as code.
The candidate should be passionate about improving reliability and performance through monitoring, incident management, and proactive engineering.
Expertise in observability tools like DataDog and experience with performance and load testing tools is required.
The role includes participating in an on-call rotation and being experienced in GitOps practices and AWS services.
Clear documentation writing skills and an interest in mentoring others are desired qualities.

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in building and running high volume customer-facing services in dynamic environments.
BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, TypeScript).
Experience in automation, infra as code, and creating reusable patterns.
Expertise in observability tools like DataDog and hands-on experience in instrumenting services for monitoring, logging, metrics collection, tracing.
Knowledge of performance and load testing tools and methods.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and experience in GitOps practices.
5+ years experience in AWS and its major services.
Clear and concise documentation writing skills.
Interest in mentoring or teaching others.
