Remote Senior Software Engineer - Front End

Description:

• Xometry is seeking a senior-level front end software engineer to join their software engineering organization.
• The role involves writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining web software frontends using technologies like HTML, Typescript, JavaScript, and React.
• The engineer will collaborate closely with other team members, including engineers, designers, and product managers, to contribute to the evolution of the instant-quote product and technology platform.
• Operational responsibilities for the services owned by the team, potentially including participation in an on-call rotation, are part of the role.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of prior experience as a software developer in a fast-paced technical environment, specifically as a UI developer.
• Experience in building single page applications using modern JavaScript libraries like React, Vue, Angular, or Ember.
• Proficiency in building server-side applications in Node, Java Spring Boot, or .NET.
• Knowledge of CSS and interest in combining contemporary CSS best practices with future language features.
• Familiarity with concepts such as BEM, OOCSS, SMACSS, ITCSS, or Atomic CSS.
• Ability to collaborate with visual and user experience designers to translate complex design comps into responsive, performant, cross-browser capable code.
• Understanding of the value of HTML semantics.
• Experience with build tools like Webpack, Babel, or Grunt.
• Familiarity with technologies such as REST or GraphQL.
• Some knowledge of back-end technologies like Java, C#, Python, Ruby, Web Services, Relational/NoSQL Databases, and OOP concepts is helpful.
