Remote Senior Software Engineer - Front End

Description:

• Xometry is seeking a senior front end software engineer to join their software engineering team in evolving the instant-quote product and technology platform.
• The role involves writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining web software frontends using technologies like HTML, Typescript, and React.
• Collaboration with engineers, designers, and product managers is essential to be a valued member of the cross-functional team.
• Operational responsibility for the services owned by the team, potentially including participation in an on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a software developer in a fast-paced technical environment, specifically as a UI developer.
• Previous experience building single page applications using modern JavaScript libraries like React, Vue, Angular, or Ember.
• Proficiency in building server-side applications in Node, Java Spring Boot, or .NET.
• Knowledge of CSS and interest in combining best practices with contemporary CSS features.
• Familiarity with concepts like BEM, OOCSS, SMACSS, ITCSS, or Atomic CSS.
• Ability to work closely with visual and user experience designers to translate complex design comps into responsive, performant, cross-browser capable code.
• Understanding the value of HTML semantics and experience with build tools like Webpack, Babel, or Grunt.
• Familiarity with technologies such as REST or GraphQL and some knowledge of back-end technologies like Java, C#, Python, Ruby, Web Services, Relational/NoSQL Databases, and OOP concepts.
