Description:

  • Jobber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Product Software Engineering team, focusing on building reusable solutions.

  • The Software Engineering team at Jobber is responsible for creating and maintaining the design system for web and mobile to enhance the capabilities of stream-aligned teams and Jobber's scalability.
  • The role involves collaborating with other team members to build reusable solutions and an industry-leading product that supports small businesses.
  • Responsibilities include championing best practices for well-tested, scalable, and well-organized code, customizing tools and processes for team effectiveness, and mentoring junior teammates.
  • The successful candidate will have expertise in front-end software engineering on mobile and web, experience with React, React Native, Typescript, and common front-end frameworks, and familiarity with Agile/Scrum framework.
  • Additional desired skills include experience with Native app development, GraphQL API integration, Mobile Observability tools, and tech leadership roles.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated front-end focused software engineering expertise on mobile and web in a production environment.
  • Experience with Native app development (iOS & Android), using React, React Native, and Typescript (Java/Kotlin).
  • Strong understanding of common front-end software frameworks, architectures, technologies, and patterns.
  • Experience working closely with designers to develop (or contribute to) an organizational Design System.
  • Experience integrating with GraphQL API (or other modern API query language/technology).
  • Experience with Mobile Observability tools (Sentry, Datadog).
  • Experience with the entire software development lifecycle in the Agile/Scrum framework.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering value early and often.
  • An inquisitive mindset; ability to ask questions, seek out new information, and remain open to new ideas.
  • The ability to self-serve, take initiative, and find resources necessary to accomplish a project or solve a problem.
