Description:

  • The Senior Software Engineer will work on Square's Ecommerce Editor Team, responsible for the Online Store website editor.
  • The role involves building features for creating an exceptional e-commerce experience for sellers and customers.
  • Responsibilities include leading initiatives to enhance the website builder and online store platform, driving frontend system architecture, and building user-facing web experiences.
  • The engineer will own features, write testable frontend and backend code, and ensure security and compliance standards are met.
  • Collaboration with a team of engineers and leveraging technical expertise to improve systems is a key aspect of the role.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in computer science or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of practical experience in building frontend applications, particularly using VueJS.
  • 5+ years of practical full stack development experience, ideally using PHP and Laravel.
  • Experience in building large web applications in a distributed environment and making pragmatic engineering decisions.
  • Interest in working full-stack, from optimizing database transactions to building distributed systems and frontend web applications.
  • Track record of pursuing self-directed side projects, research, or open source projects.
