Description:
Close is a bootstrapped, profitable, 100% remote company with a team of around 100 individuals focused on building a CRM that enhances communication without manual data entry or complex UI.
The Senior Software Engineer will join one of six cross-functional product development teams, collaborating with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and designers.
Responsibilities include conceiving, designing, building, and launching new user-facing features, implementing AI features, improving calling and SMS features using Twilio's API, and enhancing real-time collaboration user experience.
The frontend application is a single-page TypeScript web app primarily built in React, with a mobile app developed using React Native.
The company values performance, maintainability, and testability in frontend code, and follows a product development process inspired by Shape Up.
The role requires a solid understanding of web technologies and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, fully distributed team environment.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience building modern frontend single-page applications in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with at least 3 years using React for Senior 1 & 2 levels; Staff level candidates should have 8+ years of experience; Mid-level candidates should have around 3 years of similar experience.
Significant experience in designing, debugging, and optimizing frontend applications is required, along with a thorough understanding of REST APIs and HTTP requests.
Candidates should have experience participating in code reviews and providing suggestions for maintaining code quality.
A strong product sense and the ability to think through user experience issues before coding are essential, along with a passion for great UI.
Candidates must be located in the USA (lower 48 timezones).
Bonus points for experience with real-time web apps, GraphQL endpoints, AI LLMs, design tools like Figma, leading small project teams, contributing to open source, building B2B SaaS products, and experience with sales tools.
