Remote Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack will be responsible for creating and maintaining Business Wire’s multi-lingual, public-facing websites, client portals, APIs, and web services.
• They will collaborate with engineers, business analysts, UI designers, and project managers to develop applications for interactive websites, news processing, syndication, and metrics reporting systems.
• Responsibilities include contributing to design, development, and maintenance of frontend web applications, backend APIs, and press release processing systems.
• The role involves creating and maintaining technical documentation, performing code reviews, addressing performance bottlenecks, providing operational support, and identifying improvements to existing applications.
• The Senior Software Engineer will write unit and integration tests, mentor junior team members, and work on architecture, design, and operational enhancements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a computer-related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in full-stack web development.
• At least 5 years of experience in Java/J2EE and Oracle DB.
• Minimum of 2 years of modern frontend web development using React.js, Vue.js, or similar libraries.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Node.js ecosystem and Express.js or similar frameworks. Experience with GraphQL and REST API development is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, ECS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, or equivalent services from other cloud platforms.
• Experience with data modeling, CI/CD, automation tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, Git, SQL, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with MySQL, Go, and Docker or similar technologies would be a plus.
