Description:

The Senior Software Engineer will help scale reforestation efforts through software at Terraformation.
The role involves iterating on existing forestry restoration and accelerator React applications.
The engineer will contribute to Kotlin backend development as necessary to meet product goals.
Active participation in code reviews, documentation, and tooling improvements is expected.
Collaboration with product and design teams is essential for making decisions around scope, timeline, and prioritization.
The engineer will also iterate on the interview process and conduct interviews to hire talented engineers.
Sharing incident response and on-call responsibilities is required to ensure quality service for forest creator partners.
The position is remote, requiring at least 3 working hours overlap with Pacific (GMT-8) and Hawaii (GMT-10) time zones.
The salary range is $130,000 - $150,000, plus equity, depending on location and experience.

Requirements:

A minimum of 4 years of experience as a professional software engineer is required.
At least 1 year of experience as a full-stack developer of applications in production is necessary.
Candidates should enjoy working cross-functionally with product managers and designers.
A willingness to learn about evolving technologies and best practices is essential, along with the ability to apply those learnings in work.
A strong commitment to solving climate change is required.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of architecting React applications and excitement about designing a robust test suite for the React codebase.
Experience writing backend code in Kotlin and/or Java is preferred.
A background working in a startup environment and open-source experience are also advantageous.
